COLLECTING FOR CHIMES - Weakley County Press

COLLECTING FOR CHIMES — Union City Police Chief Perry Barfield (left) and Joe Ward from First Citizens National Bank stood at the corner of South First Street and Washington Avenue in downtown Union City shortly after 7 this morning as they collected monetary donations for this year’s “Blue Lights and Banks,” an event to benefit Chimes for Charity. Nearby, patrol cars from the Obion County Sheriff’s Office and Union City Police Department were parked in front of the Obion County Courthouse as officers and support staff, joined by local bankers, accepted donations of food, toys and cash for Chimes. The donations will help less fortunate families across Obion County this Christmas through Chimes, which is in its 84th year.
