Golden Gifts of Love Christmas tree at the Corsicana Senior Activity Center is for area citizens to place the names and wish list for Navarro County seniors that might not have Christmas without the communities help. Spending cap of $25 and gifts must be bagged or boxed together. The deadline for the gifts to be taken to the center is Dec. 12, gifts will be delivered Dec. 17.

Toys for Tots drop off locations are located at Lynda Housley State Farm, New Century Hospice, Collin Street Bakery, Dickeys Barbecue Pit, Centex Citizens Credit Union, Corsicana Foot and Ankle Centers, Navarro College and the YMCA. Navarro County Christian Singles presents Johnny Rogers in Concert at the Corsicana Opry. Doors open at 7 p.m. and concert starts at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $20 at the door.

The Navarro County Branch NAACP-Unit 6209 invites the community to its pre-holiday scholarship/MLK oratory contest fundraiser breakfast from 8 to 11 a.m. at the MLK Center, 1114 E. Santa Claus will make a special visit to Toliver Ram from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Be sure to bring all Santa letters to drop off in his mailbox. Come prepared to get photos taken with Santa. There will also be Christmas cookies and coffee. Join in some great holiday family fun.

Catholic Daughters of the Americas will host a Breakfast with Santa from 8 to 10 a.m. at the Corsicana Applebee’s Tickets are $10 a person and can be purchased in advance or at the door. The Applebee’s breakfast includes pancakes, sausage, and a beverage. Families can bring their cameras to meet and get photos with Santa. All proceeds will go towards the court’s charity work within the local community.

The fourth annual Lane Brown Toy Run and Food Drive will be held from noon to 5 p.m. at the American Legion. Annual T-shirts are available with a $10 donation, an unwrapped toy or non-perishable food items. Donations go toward families of Navarro County during the holiday season. Poker run begins at 10 a.m. There will be a $10 barbecue plates, bike show and auction. Auction items include a six gallon/ two basket Cajun Fryer and an Pit Boss Rancher XL Pellet Smoker. Tickets are $5 each or five for $20 for each item being auctioned off. Must be present to win. Santa Claus will make a grand appearance. The Chatfield United Methodist Church and the Chatfield Community Center presents its third annual Chatfield Christmas Wonderland with doors opening at 4 p.m. Dinner will be served at 5 p.m. There will be brisket, sausage and all the trimmings. Come out and enjoy wonderful meal, tree trimming games, movies, hot chocolate and Christmas carols. Everyone is invited.

Tractor Supply Company is inviting customers to bring their pets to the store for Pet Photos with Santa from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Corsicana Tractor Supply. A local photographer will be on site during the event taking holiday-themed photos of Santa's Little Helpers and their owners. The National Active and Retired Federal Employees Association Chapter 1191, will hold its monthly meeting from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Grand Ennis Buffet. The Pioneer Village where Deb Miller serves as Curator and Sharla Allen serves as Director of City of Corsicana Parks and Recreation Department, presents its “Paint a Christmas Ball” event from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Come and make your own Christmas memory with cookies, hot cider and Christmas carols. Free supplies limited to one ornament per person. Other supplies will be available for purchase. Attendees will also be able to learn to make old fashion corn husk angels. Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter 1009 will meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Dec 18, 2018 at the LaPradera Restruant, 1401 West 7th Ave, Corsicana. Membership is open to U.S. armed forces veterans who served on active duty (for other than training purposes) in the Republic of Vietnam between February 28,1961 and May 7,1975, or in ANY duty location between August 5,1964 and May 7,1975. The veteran must submit a copy of his/her DD Form 214 along with the application and dues. Members and guest are invited to come early and eat and visit prior to the meeting. We welcome any Veteran of any era who would like join with us.

The Coyote Squadron unit of the Commemorative Air Force

will meet at 10:30 a.m. Hardgrave Hangar, Corsicana Municipal Airport. Anyone interested in aviation, history, air shows, etc invited to come for meeting followed by lunch.
